Album at a glance: The Kansas City Bear Fighters – The Planet Where We Fell In Love

The Kansas City Bear Fighters - The Planet Where We Fell In Love

The Kansas City Bear Fighters are peculiar enough to be very interesting. Their throwback style of acoustic strums and picks along with a draping of accordion in their music make it unique and turn heads fairly easily. Their harmonies are spot on and they are masters at putting together hooks. Their ragtime sound makes songs like “Haunt Off” and “Little Mr. Muscles” deliciously irresistible. The upbeat, happy tone of all the tunes create a world where the songs live that seems less harsh and more accommodating to everyday life. “I’m The Man” is barbershop quartet worthy with it’s gentle stomp an will turn out to be the song you are singing in the shower every night after hearing it. This music has traditional written all over it but is weird enough to keep it far from boring.
